The Deck
The West Rose Tarot reimagines the iconic Rider-Waite-Smith deck through the lens of 19th-century Western Americana. Pamela Colman Smith’s mystical imagery is thoughtfully reinvented through the lives, landscapes, and legends of the people who made their homes—and shaped their destinies—west of the Mississippi. Historical figures mingle with fictional frontier characters in a deck that honors the familiar symbolism of the RWS while telling a distinctly Western story.

The Cards
West Rose Tarot was inspired by the sweeping sagas of Hollywood Westerns, but aspires to acknowledge the rich cultural mosaic created by people of many backgrounds and many nations who made their homes —or made their way— in the 19th-century American West. Fictional favorites appear alongside fact-based figures throughout the Major Arcana, court cards and the pips.
